Donations of any amount towards our work are always appreciated. We also have a ‘Back to Country’ Fund comprising of donations from community members and organisations. This fund was created in the late 1990s to acknowledge the fact that ‘Sorry Business’ (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander rituals observed during a period of mourning) is tragically a regular impact upon of First Peoples. Part of Sorry Business is the practice of returning the body back to the Country of their ancestral origins/place of birth. This fund provides a small financial contribution to members of the First Nations community to help with the cost of travelling back to Country or to help provide food at memorials/funerals/wakes.
